everyone's talkin bout it. bout the V.Tech shooting yesterday. People have their internet browsers in their laptops opened to cnn.com, fox news and all them news sites instead of typing notes for class. everyone knows that some asian kid did it. a korean dude's face splashed across all news websites and front pages of almost every paper.
but then again, i don't think it really matters if he's korean to americans. americans would probably take it that he's asian, whether or not he's korean, chinese, japanese or singaporean. prrft! but the campus newspaper here had a different photo splashed across its front page. this is it..
kinda brings the message home doesn't it? seeing injured kids our age being carried out by policemen covered with helmets, flak jackets and most probably carrying guns. (i would think that the injured would rather not see a gun anywhere near them actually) i think its better than splashing students crying or the killer's face all over the front page. it makes it all the more real.oh yeah and beks mentioned that she's sick of the word 'shock', 'shocking' & 'shocked' used in the articles. how bout this one...'empathetic', 'empathy', 'saddened' & 'sad'. i swear i've seen those words at least 20 times in the papers! thesaurus anyone...? heh.
