funny happenings of the day; woke up and managed to pull a fast one on beks (though it was april fool's on singapore's side and not yet on mine). vj telling me bout him and Max vandalizing the smashed/drunk/wasted/konkedout body of a guy we don't like a alot who was passed out in the toilet, bummed that i missed out on that!
always good to get in a few good laughs as the day goes by. while the rest of day was spent resizing a buncha pictures, eating and listening to my ohsogood music. this is what a laid back day is called. with a few movies to boot.

since beks took the question 'what is love?' and knocked it out of the park, i was being bored and just started thinking of 'what is ___?' topics. so i kinda thought about what it means to be happy. what is happiness?
some people's idea of happiness is something that gives them a purpose in life, something they know is true, something to look forward to. that's kinda easy to do, cos look around you and you'll see people that do have something to look forward to. but while writing this post, what i'm thinking about happiness is the more elusive happiness.'something' that makes you happy in that moment and every other moment you think bout that 'something'. that doesn't make things any clearer though! so i figured being happy is the exact opposite of being unhappy and thought of the things that make me unhappy.
i'm not happy when people you think are your good friends don't choose to open up and tell you things. i'm not happy when things you say are just taken at face value and thrown back in your face. i'm not happy when people dismiss whatever i have to say as 'unimportant & nonsense' just because my actions sometime make me out to be pure nonsense. it's kinda hard to think of what makes me unhappy i guess! but those are a few of them.
now, since happiness is the opposite of unhappiness, i have a rough idea of what makes me happy (: and it's you, beks. though at times i pushed you aside and not been fair to you, i hope you don't think i ever took you for granted. sometimes it takes hurt and pain to jolt those innate feelings of love and happiness awake, but i'm glad mine got jolted. and i'm not afraid to say it anymore.

i know someone, some people say i'm not your type or you're not mine. who knows? maybe they're right. but i feel it in my bones, i feel it in the blood that runs through me and it's obvious to me. that we're made of the same stuff. it's not hard to see, once you look at how close we are. instead of how far.
Apart from that dumb accounting exam experience, all's been good. Public policy test went rather smoothly (though of course, dumb mistakes are bound to be made), geog test scores were really good (gotta thank the geogo-maniac beks for it that, 10 more points in my book for you!) and i managed to get beks' blog back online!

it's been a real lousy, slow day. prrffft. partly cos yesterday's exam-retarded moments creeped up from the memory banks once in awhile and dulled the mood a lil bit. it's been a long time since i've made a grand mess of exams. and it always seems to have something to do with math and calculation errors. either that or misreading/completely not reading words in a sentence.
on top of that, i've been trying to study for tomorrow's public policy test. which by the way, i screwed up the first time around. and then before i knew it, i've spent 4 hours studying. 2.5 hours really studying, 1.5 hours staring and daydreaming. oh well! should have got my butt out my room to yvonne's place to get the pictures...but my butt's like lead right now. boo.
and i need to get something out of my system too!! (: even though you may think otherwise, the little things you say and do for me, however dorky, however klutzy, it all adds up to mean the world to me. tu as tres spécial (that's how you say special! i think) as well. tu ferais mieux de le croire ;p

pretty much screwed up my accounting exam. no kidding around this time. one small calculating error can affect so many answers..it's amazinggg. owell, still feeling kinda bummed bout that. just gotta try get as much of the 200 marks up for grabs in the final exam.
what better way to get over bad vibes by watchin 300? slicing & dicing. decapitation of persian monkeys. oracles dancing, muscle men. only second time around did i realize why the 300 spartans had no body armour. the producers wanted to showcase the bodies the actors worked hard for. heh! (thanks to denise for that insightful err, insight).
and i realized that if it weren't for those 300 spartans, the world would literally not be the same. if not for them, the monarchic persians would have conquered the then-known world. the democratic greece would have fallen. democracy went on and won the war and democracy has given us the comforts today! make sense?

heh! there he is. if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have grown close during our secondary school years (refer to post title). in a sense, we really grew up together. because i think secondary school shapes your teenage life the most. makes or breaks you. so yeah..we have that bond! ;p

i'm back in bloomington! was back on friday but had to crash at my friends place for a few nights cos the dorms didn't open until sunday. good to be back! but..it sucked to be welcomed back by cold weather. though it'd only last a few days...why did it have to be cold on the day we came back?!?!?!?!!?
anyways, san francisco was a blast. the trip was just nice lengthwise. any longer, it'd be boring, any shorter, wouldn't have done certain stuff. like they say, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. nice place to go once in awhile, but not for too long.
oh yeah, i've got to put this in writing. we travelled to and from the indianapolis airport in a limo. a white one at that. that's called rolling in style.
let's see..first few days were spent travelling the touristy spots (duh) around san francisco itself..before we ventured out of the city. checked out the wineries in napa valley, visited the sandy beaches of monterey, got some bites of seafood, did a fair amount of driving. as an added bonus, weather was good! haven't got all the pics but i've got pictures from ONE of the THREE cameras. and each camera used 2 memory cards. hmm, that's many megabytes of pictures!

oh yeah and just a short one bout the tremors in singapore on wednesday. i was quite worried man. when i got a call from a friend who said there was an earthquake in indonesia, and that there were unconfirmed reports that singapore was affected, the first person i called was my mom. but for some reason, the line went 'the phone system of the country you're calling is unavailable'. it was just then that alarm bells went off in my head man, i swear. tried calling my dad but his phone was off. tried home, but no one was picking up.
managed to get through to my mom eventually. and she was in flower arranging class while the tremors happened. aiyo, my mom. she's gettin old. HAHA! JUST KIDDING MOM!
but yeah, it was then that i realize that family comes first. i thought of no one else but my family. kinda neat huh? then you start thinkin bout the people you know who may have been affected. those working in tall buildings and all. guess that's what happens when there's threat of disaster.
you think of family, then potentially affected ones and then friends.

it's turning out to be a bad day. bad warm up to spring break! started my day off with a conversation/discussion i would rather not have. but it happened anyways. and when i thought things couldn't get any worse, my iPod screen cracks on me. was listening to it before class, put it in my bag, went over to david's to pick something up, took my ipod out to listen...and *boom* saw some weird pattern on my screen. here it is. it's not very clear...but you get the idea. the worst thing is, you can't see any words. but at least it still plays.
sigh. it's not really my fault, not something i did. but i still feel responsible as hell. like i threw the money down the drain. and they say bad things come in threes. wonder what the next will be.
the only good thing that came out of today was that i got my hands on Jackson Waters album, and it's really really good. not good enough to make my day alot better though.
